Losing The Baby Weight If you are like a majority of women who have had kids odds are you had a hard, maybe even impossible time taking off the baby weight. Oh and if you are one of those rare women who dropped the weight instantly- I'm sorry, we can't be friends with you. lol Yes, Angelina Jolie makes it look easy, but the fact is losing weight after pregnancy is hard (and Angelina Jolie isn't normal). You see, most baby weight is centered around your stomach- a stubborn area when it comes to losing weight, so odds are it is going to take some time to lose. Now I could sit here and tell you all the things you need to do, but the fact is you already know: Eating right and exercising are what's going to make you lose weight. So instead, I'm going to tell you the one thing not to do if you want to lose the weight: DON'T RUSH. If your expecting to drop the weight 1-2-3, you are going to sabotage any chance of losing weight. When it comes to weight loss our attitude and mind set play a pivotal role in our success or failure So thinking this way is going to ramp up your expectations; then when you get on the scale and see you only lost 2 pounds instead of the 10 you thought you would you are going to get frustrated and give up. But if you listen to me and tell yourself that 2 pounds is better than no pounds and stick with your routine, I promise you in time you will lose the weight. You are your biggest obstacle when it comes to weight loss, so get out of your own way and realize that it will happen-it just takes time. Oh and remember little indulgence goes a long way, so treat yourself every once in a while- it will make the time go much faster. CHOCOLATE TREATS A friend of mine shared this cool way to make chocolate dishes(mmmmm) and I just had to pass it along to all of you. They are fun, easy and your kids will get a real kick out of them. They are perfect for ice cream sundaes or any other treat you can think of, so check out the video below and enjoy | Why Kids Make Us Crazy Any parent who has gone running at top speed to stop their child from falling off a bed, couch or any other climbable surface knows that kids have a funny knack for making everything feel like life and death. Yes, one of the hidden joys of being a parent is that at any given moment you too could be on the verge of losing your mind. This is something NO ONE tells (warns?) you about when your pregnant-probably because no one told them and they want you to suffer, I mean learn, just like they did. Well, I'm going to break the silence and tell you what you don't know so your prepared when it happens 1. Nothing Will Ever Go The Way You Plan: Going shopping with the kids? Have a party to attend or a doctor's appointment? Well, expect to be late, have spit-up/food/Juice on your clothes and possibly suffering from sleep deprivation. Why? Because kids sabotage all your plans. I'm not sure if they know they're doing it, but I believe, after years of torture that they do. How else do you explain why my oldest, Aiden, would sleep like an angel- unless we had an appointment in the morning. On those nights he would be up crying all night 2. You Will Be Scared of Everything: You may know the word is a scary place, but have a kid and the world is scary x infinity. Everyone you see, even the cute lil old lady down the block, is a possible terrorist/psycho/kidnapper. Forget about saving for college, when you have kids your going to want to start saving for a bodyguard and an armored van to take them to school. 3. Nothing Makes Sense. Having kids means not trying to make sense of things, otherwise your kids will be visiting you in the loony bin. Think I'm joking? Our 15 month old, who would be snoring when a train pulled into the station, would wake up at night if we so much as ripped a piece of paper. 4. You Will Forget Your Own Name: You might have laughed watching Home Alone, but it won't be funny when it happens to your child. Okay, you probably won't forget your child, but I can promise you will forget your wallet/diapers/toys/gifts and anything else you might need when your not home. Oh and since most parents (moms especially) suffer from such severe memory loss that means I probably forgot about 1,000 things to add to this list, but don't worry-you'll be fine, just like the rest of us ;) |
