There are alarms for just about everything on your car, and now there's one for the most important thing in your car: your child.
Evenflo has partnered with Walmart to create the Evenflo Advanced Embrace DLX with SensorSafe, a car seat the reminds you that your child is in the backseat.
I know a lot of parents think: "how can anyone forget a child?" but don't judge because it is easier than you might think.
The fact is life gets crazy and a distracted parent- or one who doesn't usually drop off the baby, can easily forget there is a quiet/sleeping child in the backseat.
Personally, I'm surprised they didn't think of this sooner- it could have saved a lot of lives and a ton of heartbreak.
The Advanced Embrace DLX with SensorSafe is simple to use: there is a wireless receiver you connect to your cars front diagnostic port, which syncs with a clip that is attached to the car seat.
The receiver will go off if you get out of the car and the car seat is still locked; it will also alert you if the clip becomes unlocked while driving.
There is no Bluetooth or any other technology required- making it easy for everyone to use.
Right now you can buy the car seat online only through Evenflo.com and Walmart.com; it is not available in-stores yet but you can sign-up to be notified on Evenflo's site if you want to see it in-person before buying.
It retails for $149.99 and is good for children 4-35 pounds or up to 30".
It's important to note that while there are phone apps and attachments that can remind parents or caregivers there is a child in the car, but this is different because it is actually in the car seat.
Phones can go dead or you could forget to attach a device- with this there are no chances of any of that happening.
People can debate the need for this, but I think if even one child is saved it's worth it.
