That's why it's the perfect time to start some of your own with your lil ones.
If your looking for fun, free (well mostly) things to do with your kids this season, here are some great suggestions
1. Show them the neighborhood Christmas decorations: There is something magical abut Christmas lights, so take your kids on a nighttime drive to see all the houses lit up. (Remember it gets dark early so you don't have to go out that late if your kids are still small).
If you want get the kids in their PJ's and pack up some mugs of hot chocolate for the drive to make it extra cozy.
2. Build a Gingerbread House together: It is a classic symbol of Christmas end the kids will get a kick out of it.
3. Have a Christmas countdown: Get a calendar or make one on a big piece of cardboard. Every night after dinner mark off the day ( I use little snowman stickers) and share 1 family story about Christmas.
4. Make your own Christmas Dish:Have your kids come up with a dish to add to your Christmas menu, then make it together. Just be sure to help with the ideas so you don't end up making Jelly-bean soup.
5. Have a pre-Christmas eve cartoon marathon: Nothing says Christmas like The Grinch and Frosty. Have the whole family spend the night before Christmas eve watching all the classics.
Have everyone wear their Christmas PJ's and shut off all the lights except for the tree to really set the mood.
Whatever you decide to do just be creative and have fun with it. Merry Christmas!!!
