The holidays can be a nightmare if your dieting- while everyone is chowing down on pasta and cookies your in the corner eating a salad (and secretly hoping they all gain 100 lbs.)
Well I'm here to tell you you don't have to suffer anymore. I have the holiday diet tip that will end your suffering and it's a surprisingly simple one: EAT!!!!
Now I know your probably shaking your head thinking I'm nuts, but I promise you there is a reason I'm telling you this (besides the fact that I don't want to see you gnawing your own arm off).
I always thought depriving yourself during the holidays was ridiculous- if you indulge for a day or 2 you are NOT going to gain 100 lbs, hell, your not even going to gain 10.
And now I have proof that I am right (surprise, surprise).
You see, to gain 1 pound you have to eat 3,500 calories more per day than you normally do.
So if your like the average person and take in 1,500 calories a day that means you have to eat 5,000 calories in ONE day to gain 1 pound.
Could you eat 5,000 calories in a day? Maybe, but even if you did that's only 1 pound.
Christmas is 2 days (Christmas Eve is a big deal for us Italians so we consider it a 2-day event) so at most you'd gain 2 pounds.
Do it again for New Years and tops you gain 4 lbs total.
Oh, and no overindulging the week between Christmas and New Years- this hall pass is only good for the actual holidays.
Otherwise you might gain 110 lbs and then you'll really have to diet.
Bottom line? The Earth will keep spinning if you eat that cheesecake.
So ENJOY the holidays and eat up- oh, and while your at it have a nice glass of wine to wash down all that good food- you deserve it :)
